About Gentia

We make psychosocial risk
something you can act on.

Gentia turns the workforce signals you already have into a live fingerprint of where people-related risk is building, what is driving it, and what to do next. It gives leaders and managers the intelligence to make better people decisions earlier, with evidence behind every action.

Our mission

To transform how organisations manage psychosocial risk — so that work is safer, more inspiring and more fulfilling for the people who do it.

Psychosocial safety has been treated as a paperwork problem for a long time: policies written, surveys run, registers filled in, and very little changing in the work itself. We think that is the wrong shape for the problem. What people experience at work is created by how work is designed, allocated, supervised and changed — and those are things an organisation can actually alter, once it can see them clearly.

Our vision

A workplace where risk to people is predicted early, understood properly, and acted on effectively.

Physical safety made that shift decades ago. Organisations stopped waiting for incidents and started designing hazards out of the work. Psychosocial safety is earlier in the same journey, and most organisations are still at the beginning of it — able to describe what has already happened, but not yet able to see what is building.

We are building the system that closes that gap: one that reads what an organisation already knows, shows where risk is concentrated and why, gets a specific action to the person who can take it, and then measures whether it worked.

The story

Why we built Gentia

For more than fourteen years we worked as psychosocial safety specialists inside Australian organisations. We saw the same pattern repeatedly. The information that would have shown where risk was building was already in the building — in rosters, in exit interviews, in incident reports, in workforce reporting, in what people said when someone finally asked. It was simply scattered across systems that did not talk to each other, in volumes no person could hold in view at once.

So risk was found late, usually after someone had already been harmed. The response was another survey, another policy, another training module — controls at the weakest end of the hierarchy, because the specific thing that needed changing had never been identified precisely enough to change it.

Specialist consulting could solve this, and did. But it was slow, expensive, and it produced a report that was accurate on the day it was delivered and out of date within a month. Very few organisations could afford to repeat it often enough for the picture to stay true.

Gentia is what happens when you apply AI to the labour-intensive part of that work — connecting the information, finding the pattern, tracing it back to evidence — and keep human specialists for the expertise, the verification and the judgment. It does what expert psychosocial safety practice does, at a speed and a level of specificity that was not previously available, and it stays live instead of going stale.

How we work

What we believe

Intelligence, not another tool

Organisations do not need another dashboard, another login, or another system to maintain. Gentia sits on top of what an organisation already uses and gets the answer to the person who can act on it, in the flow of their day.

Impact, not paperwork

Compliance work should produce a change in the work, not a folder of documents. We measure a control by whether the exposure moved, not by whether the box was ticked.

Only claim what the evidence carries

Where we are inferring rather than observing, we say so, and we tell you exactly what would confirm it. Every finding traces back to the evidence it came from. This is the commitment we would rather lose a deal over than break.

AI supports expert judgment, it does not replace it

Every material finding is reviewed by a psychosocial safety specialist before it is relied on. AI brings speed, specificity and consistency. The judgment stays human.

Who is behind Gentia?

Before Gentia, our co-founders built and scaled Australia's largest corporate early education provider.

That was a complex, heavily regulated, trust-heavy business, answerable at once to employers, to families and to government. It is a category where a commercial result means very little if the quality is not there, because the thing being looked after is somebody's child. Scaling it taught us how to build in markets where reputation and quality are the product, and where getting it wrong is not recoverable.

After the exit, the obvious move was another venture in an easier category. We went the other way.

We went deep into psychosocial safety before most organisations knew what it was.

For more than fourteen years since, we have worked inside the messy reality of workplace risk: leadership behaviour, burnout, role ambiguity, psychological injury, change fatigue, and the gap between what an organisation says in its policies and what its people actually experience on a Tuesday.

We did not stay in one lane while we did it. Over that period we built methodologies, technology products and leadership programs, and now an AI-native platform, all pointed at the same problem. One of those programs, Leading WELL, was deployed across a large Australian university and won Best WHS Training Program at the 2026 Hunter Safety Awards.

The founding team has worked together for over a decade building psychosocial safety, wellbeing and leadership development solutions for enterprise organisations. What that team combines is unusual: deep domain expertise in psychosocial safety, organisational design and leadership development, alongside the technical capability to encode that expertise into AI systems. Most companies in this space have one or the other.

Alongside the founders, the team brings together psychosocial safety and organisational development specialists, legal expertise, quality assurance, people analytics, and the AI and software engineers who build the platform. The dataset Gentia reasons over is expert-trained, tagged and labelled by those specialists rather than scraped or inferred — more than 10,000 labelled risk attributes, mapped to ISO 45003 and Australian work health and safety regulation across all eight jurisdictions.

The practice came first. The technology was built to carry it further.

FAQ

About Gentia, answered.

Gentia is an end-to-end psychosocial safety management platform, operated by balance2life Pty Ltd, an Australian company, that sits on top of the systems an organisation already uses. It supports the full psychosocial safety lifecycle — identifying and prioritising risk, taking action, managing controls, and evidencing what has been done.

Gentia's co-founders previously built and scaled Australia's largest corporate early education provider, and have spent more than fourteen years working in psychosocial safety, organisational design and leadership development. The founding team has worked together for over a decade.

Gentia is an Australian company. Client data is stored in accredited data centres in Australia and is not transferred offshore.

Both, deliberately. AI is applied to the labour-intensive analysis — connecting scattered information, finding patterns, tracing conclusions back to evidence — while human specialists provide the domain expertise, verification and judgment. Every material finding is reviewed by a specialist before it is relied on.

A general-purpose model tells you what is generally true about psychosocial safety. Gentia tells you what is actually happening in your organisation, what you did about it, and whether it worked — with the evidence attached. It reasons over an expert-labelled dataset of more than 10,000 risk attributes and a live model of your own organisation.

Australian organisations and the people responsible for workforce wellbeing and work health and safety obligations — particularly frontline and complex organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions.

balance2life Pty Ltd is the company that operates Gentia. Balance2Life is the consulting practice the technology grew out of, and its fourteen years of psychosocial safety expertise is what the platform is built on.

No. Work health and safety duties sit with the organisation and cannot be transferred to a supplier or a software platform. Gentia helps you identify hazards, design and apply controls, and evidence what you have done — but the duty remains yours.
